Mt. Hermon Christian Retreat Center
Situated among the ancient redwoods of the Santa Cruz mountains, Mount Hermon has served as a peaceful retreat for more than 100 years. Anyone and everyone are welcome to reconnect with creation and the Creator through fellowship with friends and family, great food, and beautiful greenery.
I visit Mount Hermon every fall with my church’s womens group for a time of worship, solid biblical teaching, and way more eating than any of us do regularly. The establishment hosts more than just small gatherings – it welcomes groups year-round for children/youth/family camps, concerts, conferences large and small, and adventure-seekers.
The Mount Hermon obstacle courses and zip lines draw brave souls from miles around. Find out more here.

This is the lower ropes course for kids called “Discovery Grove,” but the high courses are back in the Sequoia Aerial Adventure area, for serious thrill-seeking adults.
The cafeteria! With three hefty meals per day, plus lots of snacks in-between, we’re stuffed all weekend.
Of the dozens of cabins on-site, my small group was fortunate enough to stay in the newly renovated Alder Cabin, with all-wooden furniture and cabinetry. It still had that woodsy fresh-cabin smell!
In past years, we’ve also stayed in the Acacia cabin next door, which has a beachy blue and pink theme.
